My Autumn Trip To New Hampshire - September 2005

Oh! New Hampshire!!! Every time I think about getting away for several days, I think of Maine, New Hampshire, and/or Vermont. There is something about the New England states that keep me going back and back again. I figured it out, though. It is because my heart is there. That’s what someone from New Hampshire told me. I think she was right. Or maybe I love hiking, walking in the woods, the nature, the sky, the quiet. The natural beauty, the open space, the greens. Not to mention the seafood to satisfy your palate. A satisfied sigh! Ahhh.

This was my 14th or the15th trip. I must tell you, there is never a dull moment. Every time I have gone, I have visited a different place. Always stayed in a unique Bed & Breakfast Inn. This visit was in the town of Snowville where Crystal Lake is located and where the 'Friday the 13th' movie begins. It is without a doubt a crystal lake. Living up to its namesake.

The surrounding area is hilly, wooded, and very open. The Snowville Inn, where I was staying, was kind of an entrance to a small mountain, about 1250’, called Mt. Foss. Lots of blueberries, and crystal clear blue sky. I enjoyed a day hike, ate a lot of blueberries. No, I did not turn blue. The day was so clear you could see as far as Canada.

New Hampshire---not only days are fabulous, the nights are even gorgeous. The stargazing is the best. Especially when the sky is clear. I would keep getting up just to watch the show that was created, a canopy of stars. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture that would have described what I was feeling and seeing. You just have to take my word for it.
